HUNDRED YEARS OF HISTORY

Founded more than 140 years ago, RCNB is a point of reference point in the Mediterranean navigation. Twinned with different European clubs, also maintains correspondences with various nautical clubs, some American and Asian clubs. It is internationally renowned for competitive sailing for the organization of its regattas and its unbeatable location in the very centre of the coast of the city of Barcelona allows its members and visitors to comfortably enjoy its facilities and services.

The RCNB is an associate founder of the International Mediterranean Committee – CIM, of the Spanish Association of Nautical Clubs – AECN and of Sport Cultura Barcelona and is associated with the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation – RFEV, the Catalan Sailing Federation – FCV, the Royal National Cruise Association – RANC, the Catalan Motonautical Federation – FCM and the Asociación de Navegants Solitaris.

MISSION

The RCNB's main objective is to promote and develop the practice of the sport of sailing.
Likewise, on a secondary basis, its purpose is to organise events and activities, sporting, cultural and otherwise, as well as non-profit teaching the sport of sailing. (Article 2 RCNB Social Statutes)

VIEW

The RCNB aims to become a benchmark organisation in our country, influencing how many associations, forums, organisations and sports federations related to sailing, and nonprofit, exist in your area.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

All this assuming a commitment to sustainability and the environment, maximizing efforts to reduce CO2 emissions from the Club’s activities (especially nautical ones) and leading the sustainability and protection of the biodiversity of the sea among the Barcelona clubs.
Also aims to be the reference point and meeting place, private and exclusive, of people who share interests about its objects, seeking excellence in its services and facilities to be provided by this objective.

AWARDS

RCNB has received several prizes that vouch for its path as sports company. In 1999, we received the Gold Plate from the Royal Order of the Sports Merit. Furthermore, in 2003, we received the Sports Merit Gold Medal from the City Hall of Barcelona. Also, in 1998, we received the Gold Anchor from the Spanish Royal Sailing Federation (Real Federación Española de Vela, RFEV). We have been considered the Best Catalonian Sports Company by the Spanish sports newspaper “Mundo Deportivo2 in 1997, and we have, on several occasions, received the Gold Sail from the Catalan Sailing Federation (Federació Catalana de Vela, FCV).

A REFERENCE FOR SAILING LOVERS

The RCNB stands out for the organisation of regattas, a reference for sailing lovers. The RCNB organises the Menorca-St. Joan as well as the Trofeo Conde de Godó and Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona and Copa del Rey de Barcos de Época. Its Sailing School promotes the training of new sailors.

WIDE VARIETY FO SPORTS AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

In addition to the regattas and its Sailing School, the club organises other sport and social activities with which it ejoys great participation: Fishing tournaments, contests, exhibitions, brotherhood meals, and many other leisure activities in a privileged environment.
